ABOUT US

The Rochdale Fund For Relief in Sickness was established by the owners of Rochdale Nurses Home which is now the Broadfield Hotel.

The fund was traditionally set up to help anyone who needed financial help as a result of a sickness, injury or illness.

The Fund continues to award grants under this remit today.

Applications are typically (but not exclusively)  provision of aids for daily living e.g. wheelchairs, hoists, IT equipment, adaptations to homes, special leisure equipment, medical aids etc.

Also financial assistance towards the cost of washing machines, cookers, clothing, beds, bedding etc for those with illness in the family.

We also want to hear from organisations, charities, special schools, medical centres, hospitals and hospices that have a specific need for equipment and resources that will specifically help individuals and families in the Rochdale borough.

There are three sections to the application form. The first part is to describe what item is needed and the cost (with quote if possible) of  the required item.  The second page is an income and outgoing form to allow trustees to means test the application. The third part is the supporting reference.  This might be a doctor, social worker or health visitor. All must be completed for the application to be considered.

We are happy to receive more than one application from one family or organisation, we just ask that they are sent one at a time and a further application is only sent once a decision is made.
