TESTIMONIES
Rochdale Fund for Relief in Sickness made a £5000 donation towards the new Hydrotherapy Suite 'HydRose' at Castleton Health & Leisure Centre. People from all walks of life will soon be able to access this new community facility, something that was previously unavailable in the area.
Dave Richardson's 'Hydro 16' initially started fund raising for people with Parkinson's Disease to be able to access a pool out of the borough, but now with the support of Rochdale Fund for the Relief of Sickness, they can access the benefits of Hydrotherapy closer to home.
The pool will also be used for sports rehabilitation, physiotherapy, stress relief and relaxation.
The temperature being 32-36 degrees it will be suitable for all ages and will cater for a huge range of needs.
The Soup Kitchen Rochdale
The Soup Kitchen in Rochdale supports and feeds homeless and vulnerable people in Rochdale from their premises in Champness Hall. We were able to provide funding for takeaway containers so that visitors to the centre could take hot and cold prepared meals away with them.
Whilst much of the food is provided by a team of amazing volunteers who often cook for the charity themselves, and from kind donations from local shops and supermarkets, we were able to fund the packaging which allowed the food to be separated into portions.
